Uber hack is a watershed moment for cloud security

Uber internal infrastructure is hacked. In the old world you would just disconnect the Data Centre from the internet to figure out what is going on.

However Uber has so many clouds and SAAS based services that they are unable to comprehend what is working and what they should shut down, it will take days to figure things out.

Like a thousand footguns. Too clever by half, I guess.

How many times has this actually happened? Most companies are not willing to go down for a security audit.

With SSO you could probably shut down a lot of things pretty easily.

The existing Cloud security tools are rubbish. E.g. Palo Alto
Blaming the tools isn't typically helpful, nor is it usually accurate.
