An interesting read; I commend the author for not diving into hyperbole when the subject matter is practically begging for it.

...however, I think the nature of Free Software is that it embraces the weal-and-woe of humanity. It reflects the real danger of human progress, and no one-person should have the right to stop that. I'm reminded of Diego Rivera's "Industry Murals" [0], depicting the incredible progress of humanity juxtaposed with it's incredibly human cost.

Powerful ideas have powerful implications. The fact that Free Software is essential to modern combat is equal parts flattering and terrifying, but not an excuse to stop writing Free Software.
