I wonder if repeated events like this will push the EU to adopt AC at a much larger scale for residences even with better insulation and other planned technologies.
Any correlations in there? It doesn't seem that hard to break it down by age, sex etc, compare with other stats and shine some light on it. Is it just population getting old, one of the vaccines having side effects, psychological effect of the war etc.
my guess would be the heatwave. E.g. in Germany the temperature/weather was miserable (for me personally the worst ever. E.g. I did not go running outside because I felt dizzy all the time.); I don't think old/weakened people have could have coped with it well. We usually don't have AC in homes (was not necessary before climate change).
