Who wants to hire a biter, even an ex-biter?

R.I.P. Doug Ramsey's career as COO of Beyond.

Is there a meat joke in this? My brain is cooked after working all day, please help me out.

You'd think so.

But I actually think this is great for his resume. The food and beverage industry is brutal. You need a tough competitor.

The word's "gritty" these days... :)
Today, we learned that the only thing beyond meat is... cartilage?
The guy forgot what real meat tasted like, and wanted to remember
Road rage incident; punching out the back window of a Subaru is more impressive to me, to be honest.
This is too funny. You couldn't write a better The Onion headline.

"After not having any real meat for years, Beyond Meat's COO...."

I am struggling to see how this story "gratifies one's intellectual curiosity" according to the site guidelines, but perhaps there's an exception for tabloid-level crime stories when they relate to meat substitutes?
I was hesitant to submit this, but it was so amusing I couldn't resist. >..< sorry!
It’s a cautionary tale for how hard it is for tech founders to stay on-brand.
I understand that there is some humor in the situation but there's also the serious notion that underlies it.

I'm interested on the affect this mess will have on a hot startup. Will it hurt the company? Will it go away? How will the start up handle it? These answers will be revealed over time but I would have never known about it had I not seen the story here.

So yes, the story has merit. Flagging it is mistake. This type of issue will not be unique. Other companies will have to deal with similar problems in the future so I'm interested on how Beyond Meat will handle it. Start up founders don't have the luxury of hiring experts, we take our lessons from where ever we can.

Beyond Meat, but no Beyond Violence
how much meat is in a nose anyways...

not sure why this is getting flagged if true....
I think it's because there's nothing interesting about it. Guy commits crime, unrelated to why they're notable enough to warrant an article. It just invited shallow conversation, jokes, etc. Contrary to reddiquette, it's perfectly acceptable to flag for quality control. This is a perfect fit there.
> unrelated

how is eating meat unrelated to eating meat?

The end of the article states that: "A Tyson spokesperson said that Ramsey left the company last year on his own accord, unrelated to this arrest."

So it seems he was a FORMER executive, making this article even more irrelevant.

Former Tyson executive, but was a current Beyond exec. He joined Beyond in December 2021 after leaving Tyson.
