This comment reeks of "nothing is true and everything is possible", and not in a good way. The inevitable terminus of such a non-belief system is truth is inherently unknowable, and therefore not even a meaningful concept, and therefore you are free to just believe whatever you want is true, or whatever is in to your benefit to believe is true (socially and/or politically). Its a new spin on an old adage with extra steps: "there is not truth, only power". Its contrarianism disguising as skepticism. Refusing to believe anything ever isn't the same thing as questioning beliefs in evidence, but it is superficially similar.
We have a lot of footage, and thanks to OSINT we can tell Ukrainian propaganda is not very far from truth, while the Russian one announced total destruction of Ukrainian Air Force three times over.
Mis-information to a point most of the world has no idea why they are killing each other over there. Non-sense at all.
Reality check: russia has nukes. For all countries in the world which do not have a nuclear umbrella (aka, if they are attacked, a set of nuclear countries will nuke the attacker... and will die with the attacker and you too due to nuclear mutual anihilation).
When a dictatorship with nukes attacks a country without a nuclear umbrella, if too much resistance is encountered, nukes will probably be used (maybe "small" tactical nukes at first). Ukraine army is now millions being weaponized from all over the world and started to really resist. If that becomes too much for the army of putin's regime, we all know what will happen.

If Russia even blinks at a nuke in Ukraine they will lose the war and likely also collapse within a small number of years.
The Americans have made it clear that any use of a nuke in Ukraine will be met with overwhelming force, and realistically they have to follow through.
If someone doesn't respond then any nuclear country (of which there are many) can now just nuke someone when they don't get their way, throwing a tantrum like a child.
A "overwhelming force"? Able to scare putin with his russian nukes? "magic"? "Super Heroes"?
And this is exactly what I said: any dictatorship with nukes can go to war with any country in the world which has no nuclear umbrella from a significant nuclear country. It means that significant nuclear country is ok to anihilate the attacker and die in the process (assured mutual nuclear destruction).
North Korea also got nukes. Should we allow it to invade South Korea if it wants to?
Also: Russia is not USSR. I find it highly questionable that a country that can’t even manufacture ordinary cars has the capability to refurbish nuclear warheads.
North Korea: who is "we"? As far as I know, North Korea could nuke South Korea, but for what? They would not occupy South Korea, they could use South Korea as slaves (but I don't think China would let that happen). And as far as I know, South Korea is not a member of any nuclear umbrella treaty. Same goes for any asian country.
omg... did you see the massive vehicules carrying 20 nukes ballistic missiles russia can manufacture.
Putin's regime will very probably get "what" it wants (yeah... "what" is blurry at best)
Putin’s regime can’t occupy Ukraine either. They only want to destroy superior Ukrainian nation. So once again, should we allow NK to do what Russia is doing, ie destroy South Korea, with impunity?
Also, not sure if you are following the war at all, but Russia is falling terribly. Of the three fronts opened they already lost two. They hadn’t had any meaningful advances for many months now, despite throwing in everything they had.
We aren’t talking about Putin’s regime achieving some wins, we are talking about Russia surviving in its current shape.
Who is "we"? In "should we allow"... NK can nuke SK whenever they want since SK has no nuclear umbrella, same goes for any asian country. That said, I wonder how China would react.
I don't see putin's regime occupying the whole ukraine, but some territories with pro-putin's regime ukrainians... which would actually become part of russia. That seems perfectly realistic.
They did not throw everything they had: nukes. And the failing of putin's army is extremely dangerous. He could use nukes to account for the failing of its army.
That's why it is urgent to find a way out of this weird, really weird conflict.
“We” is, at this point, humanity. Russia no longer has allies that matter, in particular China and Kazakhstan are against the invasion. Same would be the case with NK.
Nukes are not a magic wand. They don’t guarantee victory - in fact, it’s perfectly reasonable to oppose them using conventional means, given a colossal weapons imbalance between NATO and Russia. And that’s again assuming that “Nigeria with nukes” can refurbish them, which is doubtful, and that assumptions of MAD are still true, which is doubtful as well.
dude... it is not the cold war: one "side" has nukes, the other side nil.
And actually, there is so much disinformation, I am not even sure of the meaning of "sides" here.
I play dota2, mixed ukrainian-russian pro teams are from the best in the world and are _currently_ competing. All of them will be traitors in their respective country??? All that does not make any sense.
Hope a way out of this weird conflict is found soon.
putin's regime does not care, they have russian nukes (or maybe "super conventional bombs" like the US, but it does not "wipe clean" a front line like a tactical nuke).
I wish this weird, really weird, conflict was finished yesterday. I hope putin's regime will not use nukes due to the failing of its conventional army.
Nobody understands really why people are killing each other over there.
> putin's regime does not care, they have russian nukes (or maybe "super conventional bombs" like the US, but it does not "wipe clean" a front line like a tactical nuke).
No one cares what weapons Putin threats anymore, he has become the boy who cried wolf of nukes, they have been threatening nukes since pretty much the start of the war and literally nothing has changed.
> Nobody understands really why people are killing each other over there.
Russia is killing Ukrainians likely due to the natural resources found in the Donbas region that would threaten Russias status as the worlds gas station. This is why Russia is over their committing genocide and other war crimes.
Before using nukes, there are warnings, this is the first stage. But as far as I can see, putin's regime is roughly getting the terrority it wants, so even with some setbacks, in theory there would be no rush with nukes.
Also, there are the new 300000 men and equipment plus the results of the fake referendums which will make those regions part of russia... for the russian government only, but putin's regime only needs that from a internal political point of view I guess.
If that goes this way, the aftermath would be heavy equipment on those new "boundaries", and "purging" all pro-ukrainian ukrainians from those regions. I guess the threat of nukes would become way more serious if putin's regime army cannot hold the boundaries it really wants (the take more, to get less in the end). In parallel, there is the setup of their mass surveillance systems there in order to conduct the pro-ukrainian ukrainians "purge", which would now be pro-ukrainian russians from the point of view of the russian gov.
Or putin's regime goals are completely different.
About the "newly fossil gas reserved discovered", I saw that, no idea if this is true, a colateral of the real reasons of this war, or part of the disinformation.
> Ok, then how this "humanity" will block putin's regime to use nukes? "magic" or "super heroes"?
If Russia drops a single tactical nuke on Ukraine I suspect they would loss the war within a month.
Any use of nukes requires a response and America would likely just delete all Russians from Ukraine and destroy the Black Sea fleet with conventional weapons.
Don’t forget that Ukraine has gotten anywhere near the latest and greatest NATO gear nor numbers.
There’s a reason Russia just keeps posturing about nukes instead of doing it, they know they will be met with overwhelming force from a actually modernised army.
You start with a (valid) complaint about misinformation, utter "Reality check", and then conclude with this which has never happened in the history of mankind?
> When a dictatorship with nukes attacks a country without a nuclear umbrella, if too much resistance is encountered, nukes will probably be used
I think you're just adding to the sea of misinformation.

Only way out of this conflict is for Russia to leave all of Ukraine (including Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk).
Unfortunately due to Russias attitude regarding the war this can only be done by force.
