I don't know the optics/geometry at work here, but I'd prefer a smaller virtual screen, that appears closer. Bonus if it can be done without the glasses being so far in front of your nose/face. When you look close at pictures of people wearing them, they look very odd/nerdy/silly.
I’ve long been advocating that the killer app of general-population VR is replacing monitors (and fixed screens). People in cities -globally- don’t have a lot of space for desks, even though many now WFH. Many others travel regularly, and this is extremely portable without sacrificing screen size.
