Very true, but there are many of these false idols around and that also includes some of those that may noticed their shortcoming of the past and now believe themselves exonerated. Optimism is good, but naivete can be as expensive as inaction.
I doubt the idolization of big tech is actually as expressed in tech as it is in finance. Even worse as being entrenched is that these behemoth companies even want to regulate behavior. Microsoft is very prominent here. I think they overstepped their bounds and should be regulated. I am not from the US, but I believe society should set the rules, not these companies with their particular interests.
Yeah, the dual shares is a sore point with me. The plebs get the non-voting instruments and the company insiders get the "controlling" shares. It doesn't sit right with me.
