This is difficult to evaluate if it really had an impact on the conflict. Western media likes the hate speech narrative of course. Is this kind of free speech detrimental for their society? Perhaps. But anyone has yet to make a good case where freedom of speech is against the interests of any minority, while the opposite case doesn't even need any further explanation.

The conflict is still escalating, Facebook maybe just made that visible. The proposed solutions do not fit a free society. Myanmar certainly isn't one right now, but these measures certainly should not be the rule. Almost 10 years now we have seriously propaganda efforts on social media. It did not solve any problems either.

This is just a recipe for corruption and inequality. This is an anti-solution.
