Haidt is peeved that his professional org (SPSP) has a new anti-racism stance, and he finds one articulation of anti-racism (from Ibram X. Kendi’s book How to Be an Antiracist) problematic, so he’s bailing on SPSP.
And you would think, from reading all his many many words that SPSP understands anti-racism to be exactly as Kendi does, hence his action. But no, tucked away at the very bottom in footnote 4, he acknowledges that Kendi’s definition is not determinative for SPSP, according to the SPSP itself. But then he says basically “we’ll that’s not how I read it”.
The contrarian dude is not completely intellectually honest about his motivation. And he needs a better editor.
