Ask HN: Is there a refillable Data SIM for a la carte use?

I have an RV with a hotspot, I don't want new hardware or a monthly fee for something that's going to be sleeping through the winter...does anyone know of an AT&T compatible 15Gb SIM I could buy to play with the hardware for the next week or so?

Truly a la carte data is expensive. Best I've come across are monthly cost SIMs that allow you to upgrade/downgrade your plan as needed. US Mobile seems to be the best for this as you can drop to a $2.50 plan with no data if you just want to keep the SIM active, though they're T-Mobile or Verizon only.

For AT&T you could try PureTalk: they sell trial SIMs to play around with: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NFCKQ17/

Thanks...SIM's is a niche I'm really not familiar with...Lippert says it requires an AT&T SIM...and I couldn't tell if I could just swap in a Cellphone SIM...I suspect you can't. The industry has done a great job of locking up access behind fee structures.
