"Why?" is probably the best response to this news, since Elon Musk was admant about seeing this through.

He was scheduled for a deposition this Thursday/Friday which might have been related to this sudden announcement: https://news.bloomberglaw.com/securities-law/musk-to-be-depo...

In other words, Musk has issued an open invitation to stop the existing lawsuit and go back to negotiating.

He has already proven that any offer he makes is really just another negotiating tactic.

Musk is working real hard to be the new Trump --- his word is his bond --- in Bizarro World.

There is no negotiating, he agreed to buy it at $54.20

Twitter and the Delaware courts were going to seize his assets if necessary to complete the funding, but Musk was going to own Twitter whether or not he still wanted it.

LOL!

Yes --- exactly as he agreed to do before.

But he didn't do it then --- and there is no guarantee he will do it after this latest offer either. And if he doesn't?

As I said, it is nothing more than an open invitation to stop the lawsuit and go back to negotiating. Let's see if Twitter takes the bait.
