Ask HN: Has Amazon completely broken down (at least in the Bay Area)?

I use Amazon Fresh sometimes and my last 3 deliveries have been skipped without notice. I call customer service and they give me a small credit and say "try ordering again". Same thing happens with the next scheduled slot.

A dozen+ packages have been marked as "on the way" or "out for delivery" but the date comes and goes and driver never shows up. I call customer service and they refund the purchase. It may or may not then randomly get delivered a few days later.

This has been happening for at least a couple months now. They haven't acknowledged it anywhere, but it seems like Amazon has some massive logistics issues going on behind the scenes. Has anyone else had the same experience? Is this restricted to the Bay Area, or is it a larger problem?

Amazon outsources deliveries. This seems like a customer service issue to take up with Amazon. How will collecting more anecdotes about missed/late deliveries help resolve the problem?
Not OP. But I would ask to know if that is a very local problem (eventually the outsource company) or is that Amazon is really completely mess up. That could help to take the decision to go through the reclamation/escalation effort, or just kill the subscription.
We get lots of Amazon deliveries and only one missed that I can remember. The drivers here seem overworked. Amazon customer service always responsive though.
On the opposite side of the country from you, but no issues to report. Get multiple Amazon deliveries each week and all are on time and delivered without issue.
