Java jobs on HN hiring way less than JavaScript, TS, Python. Thoughts?

I noticed that Java is falling behind in comparison to the demand for both Typescript and Python.

What are your thoughts?

Should a Java developer transition before it's too late?

the prevalent type of places that would hire traditional java/glassfish/websphere/etc are probably not posting on hn

if you were able to search taleo or something you'd probably go "huh there are almost no rust or ocaml jobs"

sample bias is probably the main factor here. Java is still immensely popular and powers a great deal of the operations in banking, infrastructure, manufacturing and finance etc. Many worlds in tech, and don't always overlap
The vast majority of startups and tech companies started in the last 10 years do not use any Java.

But older companies and enterprises still do.

Depends on what kind of companies you want to work for, I guess.
