Ask HN: Best task management / issue tracking for solo developer projects?

Over time I've found it to be much more difficult to get meaningful work done on my project without having some sort of plan for the work to be done. I'm currently trying Monday.com and have tried Trello in the past but am curious about what others use or recommend

I've found it sufficient to keep the list of pending tasks as a checklist in README.md or an ISSUES.md file.

I like keeping it right there alongside the code so they stay together.

I use a variety of things depending on what it is relating to. I usually use Tiddlywiki to organize what I have to do.

If it's programming related, I open Github/Gitlab issues. For smaller prototypes or smaller things I may not have on hosted, I just drop a readme file.

Anything that you will use consistently will suffice. A kanban board and sticky notes is especially stylish
