Ask HN: What are good questions you can ask the employer during an interview?

The title explains it all. What are the best questions you can ask a future employer in order to get a good understanding of company culture, their approach, working methods etc.

Perhaps for startups you could add questions about financial stability and/or forecast?

What’s the company burn rate and annual recurring revenue?

Reverse engineer the remaining lifespan and you’ll know how stable you are

Also the company’s reluctance to give you this information will speak volumes.

I’ve been through two loads of interviews in the last year as the first company I went to ran out of money. So yeah the second time around I did probe a bit more on finances. Other than that, I asked questions to understand the actual role and how it fitted in the existing company and the other main thing was to meet as many people in the company as possible to get a better feeling of culture-fit (ugh, don’t like that term but you get the idea).
