Probably the tail end of someone's hard work over several years finally coming to fruition. too bad its a bit useless now.
Why would you say it's useless? There will be many Ukrainians looking for work to rebuild Ukraine's economy, many can work remotely for these businesses that can start there with the arrangement. I work with Ukrainians remotely who work between missile strikes, power outages and all the anxiety of what's going on. They cannot fight, so they want to make money and contribute to the army.
I can hire Ukrainians already if I want to. The biggest benefit here is being able to open a Ukrainian bank account. I don't' see any foreigners wanting to do that anytime soon.

I mean, if I was going to apply for an eresidency, its hard to beat Estonia's offering at the moment.

hopefully things wil change soon. before the war, I would have definitely considered getting a ukrainian eresidency

Why would I want that?
I wonder if it's because there's a wealth of tech savvy engineering talent remote in Ukraine and perhaps hiring them to a ukrainian e-org is easier than remotely crossing national borders and taxes?
Suppose you want to start an online business in Ukraine, maybe hire some Ukrainians. Given the airstrikes you may not want to visit the country physically, so in this way you can organize everything remotely.
It's crazy that this got passed amid, you know, being outright invaded, but I guess it's a good sign of optimism and probably could be a neat opportunity in the eventual post-war rebuilding effort.
Aren't male e-residents required to join the military!!
