Ask HN: What's your no-cloud infra look like?

3 points by systemvoltage ↗ HN
Does anyone still host on-prem or on bare metal servers in small data centers? Googling "Bare Metal Servers" brings up a whole bunch of small companies located in places like Colorado and North Carolina.

Curious what is your "no-cloud" setup look like?

Renting dedicated servers from OVH datacenters at a cost of $130/month for 12 CPU/64GB mem/4TB ssd space servers

Everything including postgres dbs, elasticsearch clusters and redis hosted in OVH.

I do both cloud (AWS) and bare metal (single server on OVH with web server, db and the rest of the infra stack).
Nobody call it "bare metal servers".

it's just server. or server hosting. or cohosting. or co-located.

We got ~175 bare metal dedicated servers for maximum performance within our infrastructure.

We also have a separate instance of our SaaS running on AWS in the “cloud” for security and compliance reasons.
