Not to be confused with doit the well known python scripting/automation/task/makefile type library.

I also see nothing to make this name make sense… what’s this got to do with databases, and *it is a tenuous reference to git at best.

Last time this was brought up it was just referencing the fact both "git" and "dolt" refer to variations of calling someone a dimwit.

It's like if you come across a project called "dunce" that is "git for X" or whatever tagline you imagine.

It looks like you've misread the 'l' as an 'i'?
Linux distribution is defined by package manager & package repository(/ies). And there is official instruction to install by piping script to bash under sudo. Is it a bad joke or what? Are here 10% sane admins, who install software on Linux this way? To me it is pure madness.
