Ask HN: How do you protect your passion when engaged with the real world?

I feel I'm unable to be someone who can be happy with making money with a tangentially related 9-to-5 and pursuing my passion on the side. As with most things there has to be a way to both be passionate and undergo gruelling work in the same line without burning out. Hence my question

You need to separate the passion that makes money and the passion that makes you happy. If you are one of those ppl who are happy making money, you can have unite them both.

If you start anything with passion, and if you make money and you making living out of it, its basically your full time job. You are back to square one.
