Ignore them. They do not have the valid right to demand that you do anything with your code. (If you're going to do what everyone demands, you're going to be miserable, because there are many people who will demand many things, often contradictory.)

Now, if they have a good argument why, then you might at least consider it. But a bare demand? There's no reason to give it any attention at all.

It is possible that your best response would be to read a book on how to become more assertive. Or not.

I hope that didn't come across as a dig or a slight. It is my sincere attempt at the most helpful answer given the facts presented by you.

Many people reading the Ops post history have called into question if this isn't just some fabrication.

which honestly it feels like it is, even more so since the op won't provide any details on this miracle app.

What in the OPs post history makes you believe they couldn't have made an app?
Their post immediately before this one is pretty embarrassing for a developer of an app that supposedly has other devs clamoring to see its source, but otherwise I agree it's not clear they're incapable of building an app (probably a game) that gets some attention.
Good, so you agree that this is probably not fake?
No, and it's weird that you're being so aggressive in saying so. I'm only saying their post history is not strong evidence of the story being fake. The story itself is plenty suspect. My feeling is about 50%.
Now you say 50%, but when you said "honestly it feels like it is" that seems like > 50%. So which is it?
Check the usernames before you try to use someone's words against them.
So when you defend someone's words, they can't be used against you? Is that right?
Laugh at them. Who are they to you? If they want it free they're not customers, if they want the app's code they can write their own app, so they're not your customers.
You can't do anything, you just have to live with it. Everyone who makes any software knows that they get pelted with requests to open-source it all the time. Heck, people are calling for Facebook, Twitter, and the Apple iPhone to be open-sourced.
Author should find out why they need the 'open source' part and provide options to write plugins at that point.
I would like to float an alternate hypothesis to the idea that OP is a fake. What if they've somehow ended up in a small social bubble of highly unprofessional developers that don't really know why their demand is insane, and also don't really know what's worth trying to see the code of? Not that it would excuse the supposed other developers if being little shits, but it would at least explain why they're being so weird. Tempest in a teapot scenario overall.
From their previous posts, it seems likely that their app is a game.
Nothing. If they want it open sourced they are not your target audience. Ignore them and continue advancing your app.

You might get open source clone but if you are in niche market probability of getting a competent one are low.
