I cannot conceive how teaching critical thinking in the classroom could be implemented in the US. Things that are understood as "fake news" everywhere else in the world (including most Americans) are official political positions here. Any critical thinking class capable of changing anything would be rejected as a biased political attack.
I suppose we could possibly make a "critical thinking" class on a par with out "sex education" classes, which are just this side of useless (and really, more often than not, the other side). But I can't imagine being permitted to implement one that could actually teach anything useful.
