I have often wondered what it is like to work with someone like featured in the article. It appears like they would hardly be working.
Do any of these people actually do any work?

Secondly, why are they all women? Do they get more views? Are they just more inclined to make TikTok videos? Were they hired without much to do?

>Do any of these people actually do any work?

No.

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Of course they're always product managers or some kind of managerial position. I've been thinking myself of becoming a manager as it seems like the best path to rack in promotions and good money without actually doing much work, I believe, coming from a developer background that I would be able to at least understand a bit what goes on in the work my developers would be doing.
Only works if you're good at persuading and motivating others to do the needful. It takes people skills and great communication.

Being a shitty manager ain't good for anybody.

Don't do it if you work for Apple, apparently

"Apple contractor fired after her day-in-the-life TikTok video went viral": https://9to5mac.com/2022/10/14/apple-contractor-fired/

Thanks for the article. TL;DR: The article states that she filmed her first day (!) of work at the apple office and a month later her contract was not renewed. Probably didn't ask management if she could do it...
Par for the course. Has the experience/interview skills but not that kind of common sense.
Apple employees are explicitly told to never post anything work-related on social media.
