Musk has close to zero cost in this, and could afford to let them use it forever without blinking. After launch, it's virtually free. He doesn't pay transit. He has downlink costs but that's lost in noise, interest on one of his billions covers it.

This is rather unfortunate but at the same time I think it’s time we think about ending the war. People are losing here and Putin and Zelensky don’t feel a thing. Let’s put people first for once. War and borders are the opposite of prioritizing people.
Why wouldn't Musk want to profit from the war. While tax payers from countries that have supplied equipment and personal to aid Ukraine may do so for "free" the companies that built the equipment or supplying the training contractors are still getting paid. So what's the difference here?
It's all war profiteering on the lives of dead people because NATO wants to fight a proxy war with Russia in order to put the squeeze on China.
