"After arguing that providing Starlink internet service in Ukraine was becoming too expensive for SpaceX and the government should help, Musk made an abrupt about-face on Monday, tweeting that “SpaceX has already withdrawn its request for funding.”
After unintentionally arguing that Starlink should be a public utility, and that he couldn't afford to keep it running, he realized what that meant and backpedaled.
Am I missing something here? it’s not like the pentagon to be frugal with defence/attack spending
Despite attempts to be above the drama, I'd bet someone at the Pentagon is tired of Elon's predilection for frivolity and drama in his tweets, and has a somewhat personal vendetta while-trying-to-appear-impartial against the man. Hey, how did we find out about this in the first place? A pentagon leak? At an opportune time, which was later picked up by the media? That or a Twitter info "leak".
If I were the Pentagon, I certainly wouldn't want to pay Drama Queen Elan a penny more than I absolutely had to. :(
Why isn't it up to Lockheed whether or not to donate Himars to Ukraine for free?
