If they have images of French people, in France, then they have a business operation in France. If they failed to note the origin of the consent they received when collecting images that’s their problem, and they should be required to remove all images that they cannot prove are not French people who consented to being recorded.
Obviously this depends on them getting any consent at all, and if they didn’t then they should be required to delete the data the acquired illegitimately.
Their “opt out” is also obviously bullshit. “Please give us even more and better photos. We’ll delete them all wink wink”. This is criminal invasion of privacy. I hope they get hung out to dry.
