Ask HN: Finding the license holder of images in 1M+ image library

I'm working on a project for a media company with a massive photo library. They routinely get notices about infringing on image licenses with significant fees attached. There's a process for tracking the licensing information now, but they have images from 10+ years ago without any licensing data. The dataset is too large to review manually. Is it possible to perform a reverse image search on a large dataset to identify the original license holder of images?
