There's a lot of talk about Niklas Luhmann's method of zettelkasten, but what about the 500 years of the related practice that was also highly productive?
Is it a component of a comprehensive memorization strategy like a memory palace?
It certainly could be, and probably likely was for those in the earlier portions of the Renaissance, though less likely for those in recent rears.
