> EU will freeze this winter, tens of thousands will die

This is pure, politically-motivated FUD. Europe certainly has some energy issues to figure out, but there is absolutely no indication that "tens of thousands will die." Please stop and consider whom your hysterical rhetoric benefits.

(Not to mention this is completely off-topic...)

The EU is toasty and sitting on near 100% storage while building out more capacity for shipped gas.. The trouble with panic based political states is that their panic is infectious. A system that can't even plan what it wants in 2 years is a system in a death spiral.
So all those lightning cables become waste eh? Shame they didn't switch when the rest of the industry did.
From memory they were earlier with lightning than USB-C.

Charging is an issueI carry 4 or 5 chargers:

- One Plus 6 - Galaxy A52S 5G - ENVY X360 - Zbook - Nintendo Switch (not gonna use another charger)

When Apple switched to Lightning, EU was still trying to get all cellphone charger based on micro-USB. Not sure who is at shame here.
