Ask HN: How to promote tech-blogs without any existing audience?

7 points by midspectrum ↗ HN
I don't have any existing audience and network to promote the tech-content that I'm writing. What can be the 1st go-to steps to distribute content and get some feedback/validation?

Post it here or on an appropriate subreddit, you will generally get one or two comments at least if it is novel.
To add to this, I'd recommend participating in the relevant reddit (helping others, commenting on articles, submitting links by others, etc) before self-promoting.
My Reddit is currently very weak and I'm trying to stay active and participate in discussions. I think it's a gradual process.
Yeah, I'd agree that it is gradual. What helped me more was joining a few subs related to my hobbies (ex: fictional books). That meant using reddit as something I enjoyed as a consumer and self-promoting became secondary.
100% aligned. The missing piece for me to fix is to become an active consumer of Reddit which currently I'm not.
Do Karma points matter for the posts to get some engagement on posts?
