What happened to web 4?
Web 4 exclusively uses tachyon-based processing machines and hasn't been built yet.
I hope they finally add the time travel extension to the TCP/IP standard.
They should align the Web version with IP and move straight onto v6 really...
Same thing as web 2 and 3.
Am I the only one who fails to see this “Web5” as anything but a marketing plot to make a product that is doing exactly what every other startup in Web3 is trying to do somehow stand out?
Yeah it’s all indirection to generate hype for a new way to manage electron state in a machine.

You see, it is beneath Jack and Co. to participate in the real work of keeping themselves alive.

Jack recently apologized for his role in centralizing the web but of course he’s going to be a part of the new protocol centralization effort.

And, web3 is, what, "what if the web, but decentralized"? Yeah that ship sailed, we called it the internet. You probably haven't heard of it, it was before your time.
I'm more of a Web7 guy, personally. Web3 is the usual boring and useless stuff. Web5 is too bloated.
I'm happy for web7's return to sanity. I could never remember the 32 digit hex url's in web6.
Definitely better than WEB6 also known as WEB2015
Good that you like web 7, because web 8 was censored by anti hate speech censorship laws!
It’s like Star Trek movies and Windows versions. Every other one is good.
Web 19 will be when they give up and just start serving html over http for restaurant websites again
I don't know what web3 is going to be made of, but web4 will be made of sticks and stones
Never mind the almost unbearable cringe of incrementing a buzzword by not one, but two counts - do you have an explanation what exactly warrants this increment at all? The only thing in there that I don't remember as "web3" are the decentralized web nodes, and I'm not really sure whether those are new either.

Not trying to be sarcastic, I think topics like DID are important, especially as BigTech looks set to try to kill passwords.

Do these guys realize the stupidity of their own comments and still do it to con the public/investors OR do they really genuinely believe in this bullshittery ?
I found this page through through the link about web5:

The picture shows web2 + web3 = web5.

WebFibonacci seems like c => c++. Cute?

Solving those problems is worthwhile though I've not checked if it solves for people's benefit, or for the benefit of business only.

They would have gone for Web4, but it was too square.
> Without the manipulation of algorithms

“Algorithm free” is the “chemical free” of the 21st century.

Said more directly, just as everything in the physical world is made of chemicals, everything in the digital world is made using algorithms. Some program is still enforcing the rules if your system.
