Ask HN: How do you deal with the impulse of taking it out on everyone

I just feel this way. It’s not violent, but certainly bitter and resentful.

I want to curse someone out.

I would consider taking a boxing class, running for local office, or going on a one-person vacation to the middle of nowhere.

Maybe all three.

I can only afford one. What’s you best bet?
Getting into politics is absolutely not a ticket to zen and mental well-being
perhaps its simply the pra tice of running for office that is the therapy

I hold office in local politics, it's stupid boring

Journaling works for me. I just need to get the thoughts out of my head and then I can get on with my day.
But it’s rants on my part:

You guys just rant and move on?

Practicing empathy can help! How do you think your words make them feel? How would you feel if someone did the same to you?

The book “this book will make you kinder - a handbook to empathy” is a good read.

Mental Therapy is also a good way to dig into who you are, and understand why you may feel the way you do.

Honestly everyone can benefit from it :)
