UK supermarkets have been doing deliveries fairly successfully for a few years now. The difference is that they aren't instant (1-2 days delay), and that they're done by the supermarkets instead of being done by 3rd party startups.
There is no implementation problems and people do like the service. BUT people are not really willing to pay for it at level required to break even in most cases...

Not sure about the profitability of either, though, which is the key issue in the space.
It probably helps that they have their own automated warehouse.
