In the environment where everyone is cutting operational costs, full-stack engineers seem to become the default hiring profile for many. WDYT?

I'd rather be competent in roughly 3 areas than spread myself thin across 10-20+ disciplines. Nothing wrong with being a generalist, but be aware of the opportunity cost of not being able to hone a skill and achieve full mastery of it.
