Whoa, I didn't know Steemit still existed. That's the first non-crypto related post I see on it since I first heard of that platform years ago! Sadly it's still a very low quality post. Ironically, maybe it's the prevalence of crypto spam that killed an otherwise viable application of the decentralized tech.
Hmm I can't seem to find any Bulgarian sources citing any religious controversy around the statues, BNT vaguely mentioning that the statues "met the disapproval of some of the locals". I doubt a whole town will ever agree on everything. And given how secular Bulgaria is I doubt it is a big thing.
I will try to check them out next time I'm in Varna
