Ask HN: Why aren’t small software projects dedicated to people (like books)

Books often have dedications. Why not one-person open source software projects? Larger projects might involve a time commitment similar to writing a book and are often a labor of love.

If you have any examples of software dedications, please share!

MySQL, MariaDB I suppose are implicitly dedicated to the originator’s children, as a possible example.
