I also have yet to find an innovation in robotic arms that have any impact on my life. /s
You're speaking from a state of privilege and good luck, because your banking system works for you. People also live in countries where the banking system sucks and receiving remittances in incredibly expensive.
And you're not? Bitcoin and crypto-currencies do not solve this problem either. There are thousands of reasons many of us are completely fed up with crypto, the biggest of which is the supporters push the same discredited B.S. every single time.
You are wrong. Crypto is wrong and a net-negative to society. There is no benefit to anyone outside of scams and fraud and stealing people's money.
And with self-custody crypto fixes bank runs, hyperinflation, and many other problems.
Many people push the same BS narrative over and over: that crypto is just a bunch of scammers. The Internet is full of scammers, too; just check your spam folder.
What a dense comment for a number of different reasons.
1) I don't need to be personally impacted to know the impact that robotic arms have. What kind of example is that?
2) Why are you assuming I'm a westerner? I come from one of the poorest countries in the world where remittances essentially prop the entire economy up. The fact the only use case you can come up with is a hypothetical backdoor to failing banking systems is exactly why crypto is a sham. Are you even listening to yourself?
More crypto-bro nonsense. Wake me up when a single useful company emerges from Crypto. I'll wait.
All of what you said could be true and he could still be 100% correct about everything in his thread. Do you have any arguments or evidence that actually undercut his claims?
I agree with this. But, the prestigious credibility of andreesen horrowitz, as well as the financial power they wield over tech startups, means nothing will occur. Crypto is great for a VC because it offers liquidity years before traditional startup investments.
a16z invests in a lot of coins and a lot of startups. Most of them fail, and some of them have very high returns. That's VC investing. There's nothing scammy about it.

Put up, or shut up.

If you can’t refute the arguments and have to resort to attacking someone’s character, it says more about you than them.
