"There's an initial burst of activity needed post-acquisition to reorganize the company," Musk said in his testimony. "But then I expect to reduce my time at Twitter."

Musk also admitted that some Tesla engineers were assisting in evaluating Twitter's engineering teams, but he said it was on a "voluntary basis" and "after hours."

lol I bet they are working for free too
How can any Tesla engineer have "after hours" during a workday?

And do they have a special deal to only work less than 60 hours a week?

Or are they volunteering their PTO? That seems a stretch. Though you have to expect that in a deposition they might say yes.

Doesn’t seem kosher at all. Seems like using resources from a public company to enrich your private company. It’s kind of like telling your employees to clean your toilets at the mansion after work.
Yeah, it's almost certainly bullshit. But because those long hours are probably not explicitly stated anywhere as their working hours, Musk can get away with claiming that it's outside their 'regular' 40 hours. Even though it really is time and attention taken away from Tesla.

This is also confirmation that Twitter is not paying Tesla for the time of any of these engineers, which is what a lot of commenters here claimed was the case.
