Show HN: Cujo's Curated SIDs (trondal.com)

I've listened to SID music on and off since the 80s, and mostly from early games and demos. Lately, I have explored more recent music. There are online lists of peoples favorite SID music, and online players, see [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]. Because I have different tastes, I had the motivation to make my own list and UX. So from january 2020 to september 2022, I listened through the HVSC having over 50k songs, resulting in a list of 600-700 favorites. I put together a UX so I can easily access them. This project is mostly for my own enjoyment, but I guess that many others here would also enjoy it. Please let me know if you have suggestions for songs I should reconsider adding, or some feedback on the UX.

This is so cool. Thanks for posting. I’ll have fun with my 5 year old:)
Excellent collection, though It’s missing some of my favorites:

Turrican:

https://youtu.be/yDyb1tV_91k (actually a cover of “Escape” from he Transformers movie).

Romeo and Juliet cover: https://youtu.be/8dDk8SiXToQ

Knight Games II: https://youtu.be/VkPhFz07b_o

Octapolis: https://youtu.be/HeFEWtbKmOo

Rock’n Roll: https://youtu.be/W7EyZIYVgec?t=24m24s

Ice Age: https://youtu.be/T6ZRMOthH_A

Thank you for the suggestions. The Romeo and Juliet cover is actually present, listed as Sanxion (2/2). I feel a bit sorry for not including any of Wally Beben's work. Tetris almost made it, but it is so darn long. The version of Rock'n Roll you link to seems to fall out of tune.
To me, that 25-minute long Tetris tune stands apart from all other SID music. It's like a movie soundtrack :)

BTW, thanks for sharing this. Most "top sid" lists are kind of predictable.

Ah, right, thanks for reminding me that his is actually Sanxion. For a very long time I only knew it from some cracktro.

You’re right, there’s something funky going on after 1:20 of High Times which I don’t remember from the original game. The HVSC version played in Modizer sounds better to me than that YouTube version, might be an emulation issue.

The Magic Disk and Game On title songs from Thomas Detert and/or Markus Schneider are rather good IMHO

A small issue I have: The player doesn't seem to work on Chrome under Linnux though. Getting "Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'playSong') at HTMLTableRowElement.<anonymous> ((index):665:22)" when clicking a song

Works fine on FireFox though

Thanks for the suggestions. Will look into the bug if I can find the time.
