If politicians are gonna be lobbied by climate polluters why do they expect people to take climate change seriously.

How cares? As long as these elites and politicians attended it's a good thing. It would be laughtable if they all travel there with a bicycle just to make a point or to gain authority. The "only Jesus can tell me about climate" attitude sucks and is stupid.

I have a car, I buy clothes, I have a warm house in the winter, I travel on streets and so on. Even my morning toast is responsible for CO2 emissions. Still I want a future for my children and we need to decarbonize transport, heavy industry, the agrar sector, energy production, cooling and warming and so on.

The airline industry, you and me flying, 80% of it purely for leisure, will release something like 700 million metric tons of CO2 this year (and typically over 900 million metric tons per year pre-pandemic.)

The private jets flying to this conference will release maybe 10,000-20,000 metric tons of CO2.

That's 0.000016% of the annual CO2 from air travel.

Some of the most consequential travel for curbing climate change, literally a drop in the ocean compared to what you and I cause with our freaking vacation flights, and you all turn to insults and claims of hypocrisy.
