Why don't they use nitrogen gas? Because they want executions to be painful?

There's lots of guns in America. I don't support the death penalty, but not using the simplest method really seems like they are going out of their way to make it cruel.

With pure nitrogen, you become unconscious in about 15 seconds ... without any pains

I think the last execution by firing squad in Utah had the Janitors and guards flat refusing to clean up the mess.

All I got to say is if you sentence a man to life in prison it's done then and there.

Dig a deep enough hole and you don't have anything to clean up except with a backhoe.

Not endorsing the death penalty, but same question. NPR just had a report on PTSD in prison employees and witnesses participating in executions.

I heard they do this on purpose to get back to firing squads because a bullet is cheaper than a lethal injection.
