For anyone trying to install mastodon, yunohost does it automatically.
I just signed into Tumblr for the first time in several years....it looks totally different!

I'm not sure when these changes happened but the logged-in page looks much more like Twitter now. Back in 2015 or so when I used it semi-regularly; it was much more confusing then compared to FB/Twitter. You could reblog and like, but not comment. It wasn't clear at all whether commenting was even allowed, even though I'd frequently see posts with a chain of comments.

It looks much more straightforward now.

I have been trying to get my account declassified as a NSFW blog for years, customer support in tumblr is truly terrible.

But it's pretty cool that they're doing this. Might go back now.

i think this is a very important piece of what’s happening to the wider social platform sphere. daily we see top voted posts talking about the non-existent customer service from a disturbing number of widely used platforms. whether it’s google, twitter, youtube, facebook, and on and on and on.

it’s pretty sad when we consider it normal to need to hunt down a back door to an actual human to get simple stuff looked at and fixed.

for all the rhetoric surrounding the fediverse, when we drill down, one of the most common things people rave about is that they can actually interact with humans who run the servers—that the experience actually feels more sane, more human.

i think this really says something about the cold non-human experience of certain platforms vs a warm more-human experience people are getting from the fediverse.

How are they going to enforce their beloved porn blocking?
i would assume the same way any platform which bans it does.
