Ask HN: How do you deal with HN FOMO?
Like some of you, I am an avid reader of HN, and I spend definitely too much time on it. I am going on holidays and I don’t want to engage with it, but at the same time I don’t want to lose great content. Have you guys found a solution?

[ 2.8 ms ] story [ 25.5 ms ] threadI also avoid political stuff. Very easy to spot something that devolves into thinly veiled political rants, no matter how 'moderated' it is, things slip through the cracks.
But you will miss out on the live interaction. (Rant alert) HN is VERY BAD at this. It is very hard to join conversations after a very short span of time (1 day, 2?)
1. Your threads are sorted by the date of your comment, not by the date of the last replies to them.
2. No notification
1 + 2 = you simply move with the flow, or am I missing something here?
Enjoy your holiday!
It's a great community, but much of it just the same again and again. What great content in specific do you feel you lose ?
It's interesting.. I don't have TV anymore, and basically just focus on doing my work and spending time with my family/friends ... used to do a lot of side projects / read a lot of HN ... hasn't been the case for a couple of years now.
Guess I'm getting older :)
