What I like about this specific easter egg is how they solved the issue with religious holidays: Only those that care about <your religious holiday here> get to see the message.

Shameless discrimination against pagans/druids/witches/misc hippies: "solstice" gets no special graphic. And it's actually today[0] as well, unlike that copycat christmas!

[0] depending on where you are.

EDIT: Yule gets nothing either. Odin may as well have slain the frost giants for nothing :(
