To me, grad school was a school not a job. I taught for support but that was a secondary effort because my boss didn’t have research funding. Perhaps keeping that in mind might make it more palatable - it’s a gain for the student and entry into one’s field.
The students would have been taught better if they had dedicated teachers not grad students giving it a go.
