Companies like Reddit and Twitter (apparently) feel it's fine to lie to and deceive users without a non-fine print disclosure.
Why confront poor behavior and encourage positive interactions when you can automatically shadowban and heavenban users with minimal cost?
One of the things I hated about moderating a subreddit was having to warn shaddowbanned users that their positive, useful comment won't be seen since their entire account is shaddowbanned (often incorrectly) and they need to go beg Reddit to unban their account.
Reddit's support is a bit better than Stripe (script readers unless you can flag a founder on HN) or Google's, but even I have had an alt account get shaddowbanned (TL;DR never pattern upvote or downvote comments (eg: If Sam makes 3 comments on a post and you downvote them all, that is flagged activity)) and it's really frustrating to see 9 months worth of posts and comments that silently died due to this.
It's a bit scary to give a techy with the belief that heavenbanning "is totally okay and would even be a net positive!" the keys to control and mutate a platform such as Twitter.
Does anyone else feel like the pace of transition to Dystopia is picking up steam?

I've had enough, I want off this ride.
