I was wondering what if I connect Chat GPT like algorithm with search engine and to my surprise it has blown my mind.

It has become my personal search engine and also a virtual assistant.

I have completely replaced Google from my daily searches and then it also helps me to write work emails, correct my code and so more.

I really want everyone to give it a try and see the power of the tool.

Here is the URL - www.accintia.com

if you aren't using it for commercial search google doesn't care and you are saving them money.
You are "saving" them ad impressions which means they make less money.

I think Google is in a very dangerous moment right now. They stand to be replaced by neural nets. We don't need to see any search engine, web page or ads if we use a neural net like chatGPT for the UI. You can eventually download a neural net like chatGPT, but you can't download "a Google".

Also, we are working on a private search, where you can store any articles, video links with Accintia and then when you want to search within your articles you can do so.

Like instead of adding everything to you notes and then not finding it, you can store it in Accintia and you can easily search and navigate through any articles, videos, podcasts etc.

I am working on the same thing. I pulled a few hundred papers I read in the last couple of years and my full online comment history going back 10 years, extracted text and split into chunks. Then embedded the chunks with sentence transformers and indexed with annoy. This allows me to get text snippets by query and add them to the prompt.

OpenAI hints at this functionality because it included "Browsing: disabled" in the prompt. Probably in the future they are going to flip the switch.

There are few issues with your rebuttal.

1. Google Search makes 0 money from ad impressions. They only make money through either clicks or conversions. 2. If your search doesn't have commercial intent they will likely not even serve you an ad. 3. If your search has commercial intent that falls under the definition of a commercial search. 4. You need very up-to-date information to support commercial search. Whether that is reviews, retail product feeds, or ads but that is quite different than how systems like GPT work today.

Ultimately running your own ChatGPT will be just as hard or harder as running your own Google.

Looks great... want to explore it :)
Would be more helpful if it shares the reference link also :) like when you search for anything, response with reference link is really helpful.
Given a question it decides whether to search internet or not. In case of internet search, it shows the source of information (reference links)
Ouch....

Q: Why is Donald trump a great guy? A:

Donald Trump is not a great guy because, although he is a successful businessman, he has bent the rules to get what he wants in the past. Additionally, he is not very patriotic - he has only spoken about the "sorrow shared by the entire family of the American nation" in the context of families who have sacrificed for the country, not in the context of the nation as a whole.

you're feeding it a loaded question, and the answers still skew negative -- what's the matter with that?

there is certainly a lot of negative Trump news that these things are fed with , did you somehow expect a different answer?

It should talk about his positive aspects (good policy moves (e.g. hospital pricing transparency), etc.) for a question like this. It can, at best, note that public perception doesn't align with the prompt. Going against the prompt is not a good response.
Positive aspects? He sacked the US Capitol that got police killed, just because
Don't get lost in the weeds, this isn't a political discussion, you can have a discussion about that on reddit or twitter. This is a clear cut instruction for an AI and it is not responding correctly. The point of this AI is to do what you ask. People are asking it to imitate a unix terminal and it is doing it just fine, but here we see that evidently as soon as the topic gets contentious, it is prone to misbehave and tap into mass social consciousness. Not a useful function! I have already provided one example of a positive thing Trump did that was mildly well received which the AI could have cited.
Looks like it is already broken. So is ChatGPT open source like are you able to make this on your own now?
This isn't Chat GPT, developed our own Algorithm and the result is very similar. Give it a try. We are getting more than 10k searches every day from last couple of days.

Could you give you opinion on the search results - www.accintia.com

One opinion I have is that it seems like if it scores a relation between two things high enough it will just say the two are causally related. I asked whether fluoroquinolone antibiotics caused various things that are potentially associated in research, and it said yes for all of them. Then I asked some things where it was like people that don't know biology might associate the two (like them causing fluoride poisoning), and it also said yes. So that kinda just threw all of that potential in the trash it felt like.
Another opinion I have is that you should make it not randomly go to a blank screen and lose the history of all the questions and answers you asked.

You should fix that ASAP

Force login = time to find a new chat bot site
Screenshots or examples would be nice as this is totally broken now (most likely due to high traffic from HN)
Strange, it's working and we are hitting almost 10k searches every day. Please try from Chrome browser. Would love to get your opinion on the searches and the chats it generates.
Doesn't work, it goes to a blank page for me.
Can you try again, for me it's working. Try from chrome - www.accintia.com
How does it work? how are the search results used to generate the response?
What happens when these type of search engines start spitting back adverts?
can you add a way to make the search bar like text area to allow multi-lined query.
