Hi all - I'm looking for someone to join my org to help us design, build, and run our cloud database infrastructure (a monolith, in GCP, layered on MySQL with a big effort underway to modernize a lot of our stack including a move to split up key parts of the monolith into microservices).

I've worked a bunch of places, and I really like the culture/environment here. We're a company that does sports management (think registration/membership, facilities, communications, uniforms, etc.) with a huge focus on enabling youth sports activities. Definitely a sports-team feel around here, and we do lots of stuff that makes it fun to work here.

I need someone to join my org (platform team) to own our database infrastructure, and I envision this role at 50% infrastructure work, and 50% (maybe more) working with our engineering teams to think through how to best use the database technologies (indices, queries, best way to store stuff). The ideal candidate has run/managed databases in the cloud (GCP) and is familiar with replication, IaC, Security, but can also work with developers to better design and use our database infrastructure. It would be great if you had some familiarity with NoSQL, Graph Databases, and/or geospatial databases, as these are all in consideration to handle specific requirements on our roadmap. Link to the role above. Happy to answer any questions you may have about the role, or you can reach out to me directly at (remove spaces) j vanden bos @ leagueapps.com
