The responses don't seem to be as clever, detailed or adaptive anymore. Seems to have lost the "magic".

Maybe because it’s heavy regulated now. When there are a lot of rules, the creativity drop down.
Yes, but I can give it a pass since it's still in beta.

But if you've followed GPT-3, this was a pattern. I'd use the old versions because they were more creative. ChatGPT doesn't have versioning so it's hard to compare them side by side. But while it declined from davinci-instruct-beta to text-davinci-002, text-davinci-003 was a huge leap, possibly the core engine for ChatGPT.

It's likely because people have found holes and exploits, so some of it is just quick patches for these that bring overall quality down.

I hate whatever built in prompt they are using for chatgpt. You have to add so many caveats in a prompt to counter-act their bullshit
100%. The answers used to be mind blowing. The recent changes make it feel like the answers are regurgitated stock answers.
