Ask HN: Why not focus on self parking cars rather than FSD

Imagine a car that drops you at the curb and then drives off to a far parking spot at the airport. Or you exit at garage entrance and it finds a space and parks. Parking garages and lots could be outfitted easily with automation beacons and markings as well? Is anyone close to this?
