I use an Apple Watch. I start the “Mindfulness” Watch app (and then ignore it in favor of iOS Breathing) to force the Watch to measure HRV.
Of the apps I’ve tried, The iOS Breathing App’s audio and very limited visual is the easiest to get engrossed in. Google for “resonance breathing” for more about its breathing technique - though I didn’t know any of that when I first tried it.
I really like the audio on TBA. Would love to hear feedback on my app, if possible, especially if you're using another breathing app regularly. It is quite a different approach, partly because hopefully it will be used to quantify breathing function one day.

[ 2.4 ms ] story [ 28.3 ms ] thread3 minutes of 5:7 is enough to see a measurable change in HRV. 5 minutes is downright relaxing.
